New Track
Track - What Goes Up
Artist - Warhaus
Album – Karaoke Moon
Genre - Alternative/Indie
My take – Track from the new album, Karaoke Moon. It’s a sultry, relaxed groove.
New Album
Album – Rough & Ready
Artist - Ruthven
Top Tracks – Don’t Keep It To Yourself, Itch, Space = Time = Money, Drive It
Genre - R&B, Funk
My take – An R&B album that has a bit of yacht rock feel. His influences are many and I hear a bit of Hall & Oates, Steely Dan, Scritti Politti, 80s Prince (Itch), and even some Phil Collins in the drums, using a lot of gated reverb.
Fave Album
Album – Black Foxxes
Artist - Black Foxxes
Top Tracks – Badlands, My Skin Is, Swim, The Diving Bell,
Genre - Rock, Alternative/Indie
My take – This is an album that has elements of 90s grunge, is raw and somehow polished at the same time. Pretty good debut album from these guys a few years ago.
Fave Track
Track - Voices
Artist - Brotherhood
Album – In The Violet Hour
Genre - Post-Punk
My take – Depeche Mode meets Sisters of Mercy in a song that is hard to tell was released in 2019, not 1983.
