Happy Monday! Welcome to the second issue of the New Tune on Monday newsletter. Two weeks in a row… look at me!

New Album
Album – Audio Vertigo
Artist - Elbow
Top Tracks – Balu,  Things I’ve Been Telling Myself
Genre - Alternative, Mellow-Rock, Post-Punk
Sound -  Clean, precise synth, funky bass lines , brass, groovy and somewhat genre defying.
Mood/Occasion – Upbeat and mellow at the same time, inoffensive dad (soft) rock that suits a lot of occasions.
My take – I keep coming back to this album and it reminds me of mid-eighties Peter Gabriel at times, but is a modern album with influences from R&B, funk, soul and more.

Fave Album
Album – Other People’s Lives
Artist - Stats
Top Tracks -  Rhythm of the Heart, Other People’s Lives, I am an Animal
Genre – Alt-Dance, Synth-Pop
Sound – Janky synths, electronic (somewhat formulaic) drum beats,
Mood/Occasion – Foot tapping dance beats
My take – Reminiscent of The Sparks with a Talking Heads feel

Fave Track
Track – Pipe Dreams
Artist – Lonely Guest, Rina Mushonga
Album - Lonely Guest
My take – Slow moving, rhythmic, with intriguing strings and Rina’s amazing voice. It’s too short and leaves me wanting more.
