NToM #26
Okay, a couple new ones to share this week. Rush guitarist’s other band, a prog homage to Pink Floyd, and an alternative album that is hard to peg to a genre.
I’m changing things up on the links as people have mentioned they can’t download the playlists to other streaming services. Instead, I will link the album/track in the album/track name so everyone can import them into their own libraries.
If you have feedback on the new sharing system, please let me know. I want to make it easy for you all to listen to what I share.
New Track
Track – Stygian Waves
Artist - Envy of None
Genre - Alternative/Indie, Prog
My take – Wondering what Rush guitarist, Alex Lifeson has been up to? Lending his licks to a new band that sounds nothing like Rush but if you listen closely, you will hear his talent shining through. Their self-titled debut album from 2022 has some standouts on it, as well. Looking forward to their next LP this year.
New Album
Album – After Alter
Artist - Jaye Jayle
Top Tracks – Father Fiction, Small Dark Voices, HELP!
Genre - Alternative/Indie
My take – Tom Waits vocals and subdued energy that burns slow but has some real highlights.
New Album
Album – 365
Artist - Adult Cinema
Top Tracks – Spring
Genre - Alternative/Indie, Prog
My take – British multi-instrumentalist takes us on an hour long ride through four (roughly) fifteen-minute, mostly instrumental tracks named for each season. It reminds me a bit of the more atmospheric/instrumental side of Pink Floyd with some other influences thrown in for good measure.
