Single - Like a Sunken Ship

Genre - Alternative Metal, Heavy Metal, Prog-Metal
My take – I laughed out loud and said, “holy shit,” listening to this for the first time. If you like Tool, Queensryche, and maybe a touch of Killswitch Engage, you’re in for a treat. I don’t want to give too much away as it’s a surprising listen. This is from their upcoming LP, Melodies of Atonement, due out August 30th.

Genre - Psychedelic Soul/R&B,
My take – A fresher, bit more progressive take on the soul that she and Alabama Shakes created. I hear a bit of Prince on some of the funkier and dance tracks.

Artist - Ghostpoet
Top Tracks - Trouble + Me, Freakshow, Live>Leave, Karoshi, Immigrant Boogie
Genre – Alternative, Indie Rock
My take – I really don’t know how to describe this one. Alternative, with a whispery drawl of lyrical delivery that is both dark and calming.

Fave Track
Track – A Thought is Just a Passing Train
Artist – John Moreland
Album - LP5
Genre – Blues/Funk
My take – The only song on the whole album that really grabs me but boy does it grab me. A modern, grimy funky blues song.
